These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WebInvestigator Chrome extension ("Extension") provided by WebInvestigator ("we", "our", or "us"). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.
2. Description of Service
WebInvestigator is a Chrome browser extension that helps users document and organize their web browsing activity for investigative purposes. The Extension provides:
- Page visit tracking and documentation
- Screenshot capture functionality
- PDF saving capabilities
- Note-taking features
- Investigation report generation
3. Free and Pro Tiers
Free Tier: Includes core investigation features with a limit of 3 investigations per rolling 30-day period.
Pro Tier: Includes all features with unlimited investigations. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Extension only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Extension for any illegal activity
- Use the Extension to violate any third party's privacy or legal rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
- Circumvent any license restrictions or usage limits
- Share, transfer, or resell your license key to others
5. Intellectual Property
The Extension, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by WebInvestigator and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Extension in accordance with these Terms.
6. User Data and Privacy
All investigation data you create using the Extension is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your investigation data. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.
7. Pro Subscriptions
For Pro subscriptions:
- Payment: Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment information.
- Billing Cycle: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Contact us for refund requests.
8. License Keys
Pro licenses are issued as unique license keys. Each key is valid for one user and may be activated on multiple devices owned by that user. License keys must not be shared, transferred, or sold.
9. Updates and Changes
We may update the Extension from time to time to improve functionality, fix bugs, or comply with legal requirements. We may also update these Terms, and continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE EXTENSION IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebInvestigator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Extension at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Extension ceases immediately.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Queensland, Australia.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.
